Started Tweeting Again!

Thanks to a post by fsckin in his blog, I've now started using twitter again, which in turn will make me start posting to this blog more often, lately I've been getting a lot of homework from school, and I've been having problems with Classic Snake, which kept me away from the blog, however I'm done with all the large homework assignments and Classic Snake is now taking much less time, so I'll be posting here a lot more often. I've been thinking of switching to wordpress soon, as it has some nice features that blogger(or blogspot) lack, so I'll be trying it out a little bit over the next week.
In two weeks I'll be going to Mexico and building a house for a very poor and currently homeless family, as part of a mission trip with my churches youth group, so I'll be away. Once I'm back I'll have quite a lot to write about, with my experiances and etc. so this blog will really start to get updated a lot.
Anyway thats all I've got for now cya.

Hey there again blog! I've been away for about a month now, due to many things. First of all, I'd had hives for about a month now, also I've had some problems getting OS's installed on my eee (XP mainly), but now I'm all fine and back home. I just got back from a trip with my school's band, we spent 5 days at Walt Disney World, and played our music for anyone who'd listen, we also marched around in one of Disney's parades. The trip was structured, however we were allowed to go wherever we wanted, with whoever we wanted in the park for that day. It was a great trip that I'll probably end up writing more about later, however now I'm just glad to be back home.

Hurray!, today I finally got my eee pc, and I love it. In fact I'm writing this post on it right now. Everything about it is perfect, however the small keyboard does take some getting used to. I found a good way to get used to the keyboard was using the included typing application, even tough its more for kids and people still learning how to type, I found it quite challenging in the hardest mode, and now I'm typing faster than I have with any other keyboard. This weekend I'll be installing Windows XP, and after that I'm going to install ubuntu with libnds.
I'll get going on all my ds games in the next week or two, and to push myself even more, im setting a deadline for classic snake, The end of the month. Once I'm done with classic snake I'll finally start working on pinball creator. All of this will go by very fast because I'll be on a plane trip to florida with my schools marching band. That should help me a lot with my programming.
I should have a full review of my new favorite device, my eee, very soon.

In other news, I've just signed up with Pownce, a social networking site, my username there is emudeath, and I should be online quite often, so add me as a friend

HUGE DELAY

Well I've just finished my mid-year exams at school, and they were pretty hard, keeping me from my computer, and therefore this blog, for awhile. I've got some news, I'm getting and eee pc next week. It should help me post here more often, and help me work on my programming more often. Also due to the mid-year exams I've been unable to learn the new ds programming library that I'll be using in Pinball Creator, so I'm a little behind in everything. I hope to get started on it soon. However before I release that, I'll be working on a clone of the old fashioned snake game, like the ones that were on the old nokia(?) cell phones. Once I'm done with that I promise that I'll work on pinball creator.

Its been awhile since I last posted and so I thought what better time then the new year, I'll also try to make a resolution to post more often, anyway, I've finished getting my Linux computer up and running, even with PAlib, which took a ton of time, and now I'm able to start coding pinball creator!(title is only temporary).

Also I just got back from a youth meeting at my church, and we're going to Mexico in April and building a house for some poor people in Mexico that can't normally afford a house, however we need to make some money, so I'll try to set up a chip in so people can donate, we need $4000 just for materials, thats not including air fare for everyone, food, and drinks(we can't drink the water there). So I hope some kind soul stumbles upon this blog and donates even just a little money, we could use it. Thanks

Christmas eve!

Only one day to go until Christmas, I can't wait, as thats when I'll be getting the parts to my new computer. A friend told me about an awsome mod for the source engine, its called zombie master, and can be found at zombiemaster.org. I hope that you find it as fun as I did, its kind of a mix between FPS and RTS (first person shooters, and real time strategies). I havent been able to pull myself away from it since I found out about it.

In other news, I've thought of a new game that I'm going to make on the ds, Pinball creator! I got the idea from the podcast Radio Ninty(http://www.radio-ninty.co.uk/), they are one of my favorite podcasts, and I listen to them every week. Anyway back to the game, its just like pinball, with one twist, you get to create the whole playing field. You can pick from tons of packs of bumpers, paddles, little bonus things, anything that you would find in a normal pinball game. You will also be able to download more packs, and even create your own, either with your ds or your computer. I'm hoping that a small demo will be out by january 2nd, the deadline for the drunken coders winter coding competition(http://drunkencoders.com/compo/) I'm hoping to get all those features in before the competition, but I doubt I will.

Building a computer

I've just ordered the parts for a new computer that I'm building. It will be running SUSE Linux, I think, unless I can find another distro that I like. Oh and I'd like to thank New Egg, they are a great company for ordering computer parts, I've already got the case and the other parts shouldn't take too long to get here.

Hurray, I've just created a small little "game"(in quotes because you cant really do anything other than move and jump, and it was made in about 30 minutes). Considering that I just started learning PAlib(one of the best ds code libraries) a few weeks ago, I think that this is a great achievement. However, school is slowing down my ability to learn, as it takes up 8 hours of my day, 5 days a week. I'll post the file up here soon, just for my own sake, and maybe to give a few people some joy in their lives.

This is my game and programing development blog, in it I'll post any games or programs I've made. Most of which will be for the ds as that is the focus of all my development, though I hope to soon make a few pc applications, and when/if I get a hacked psp, I'll start making programs for that. Right now I only know a bit of C programming language, but after a few games in that, I'll learn some others.
